Director Mark Cousins’s fifteen-part documentary about the story of cinema, all the way from its birth to the present, will be shown at the Centre for Fine Arts during a three-day marathon on 1, 2, and 3 March. A definite must-see for film buffs who don’t mind taking their time.

Nine new releases this week, featuring - among many others - Colin Firth dropping his pants, Lubna Azabal in a knock-out performance, Hugh Jackman in a bombastic musical, and two shepherds from Taboulistan in France.

That lout who throws his litter on the floor of a vintage tram and gives you the finger when you politely draw attention to his misdeeds – couldn’t you strangle him? And what about his opposite number, that officious, respectable citizen who stands there until you clear up your dog’s excrement, if needs be with your bare hands? Wouldn’t you like to clobber him?

With another star role, Brussels-based Lubna Azabal (Incendies, Exils) has again confirmed that she is one our best and most versatile actresses. Director Nadir Moknèche’s film noir/sketch of contemporary Tangier depends entirely on her.

I had to check five times to make sure the screenplay of this British-American farce was actually written by Joel and Ethan Coen. I was not driven by journalistic zeal, but by disbelief. How could the American brothers behind masterpieces like No Country for Old Men and The Big Lebowski possible have written such a corny, painfully unfunny bit of nonsense?

Hermann Goering, Heinrich Himmler, Albert Speer, Adolf Eichmann, Hans Frank : les dirigeants nazis avaient des enfants.
