Picnic in style

Picnic lovers are being given a special treat in our capital on Sundays throughout the summer. Two initiatives are particularly noteworthy for their inspired concepts: La Garden Party and PiKniK EleKtroniK. La Garden Party connects picnicking to lounging and organic to lounge islands, a chill-out zone where you can drink champagne, cocktails, and fruit juices, and organic cookery workshops. There is also a Kids Zone with crafts and reading areas (in French). As is apparent from the name, PiKniK EleKtroniK has a hipper image centred on electronic music, though there is also a strong focus on recycling sustainability. The turntables are in the capable hands of local and international DJs like Lorenzo Ottati, Fady One, Karo V, Christoph Lefrog, Earl Grace, Steph x, and Tobhä. Here too, the audience can join in with, among other things, an electronic music workshop. A bar serving sustainable drinks and Indian snacks completes the scene.
