Na de twee eerdere, succesvolle edities in de Modelwijk in Laken en in Sint-Joost-ten-Noode, strijkt het KVS-stadsfestival Tok Toc Knock neer in de Europawijk. Gedurende drie weken staan een tiental locatieprojecten op het programma die allemaal een stukje van die Europawijk onderzoeken.

Après avoir percé en 2011 avec Peanut Butter Blues & Melancholy Jam, Ghostpoet présentera son nouvel album Some Say I So I Say Light aux Nuits. Le MC londonien surprend avec du trip-hop abstrait avec des touches de dubstep et de grime. « La musique est ouverte à toute influence. »

Don't give us that bored couple look! Have we got some spectacular news for you. Galerie Paris-Beijing has invited the British Magnum photographer Martin Parr for an exhibition at the Hôtel Winssinger in Saint-Gilles. Some sixty photographs have been selected from five of his famous series zooming in on our very human vulgarities and eccentricities, such as Small World, Luxury, Common Sense, Bored Couples, and The Last Resort. The chronicler of everyday life will be in Brussels for the opening on 29 May (at 6 pm). The exhibition will run until 27 July.

The Couleur Café line-up is complete! The festival crew have just released the last names of the programme. With 1990s pop icon Neneh Cherry and RocketNumberNine, 24-year-old Andy Allo, the American funk and soul jazz saxophonist Maceo Parker, the Californian rock, world, and reggae band Rebelution, and American soul artist Aloe Blacc, all four stages now have their definite line-up. Couleur Café will be presenting a total of 53 artists, bands and DJ's at Tour & Taxis from 28 to 30 June. Summer's coming!

Electronic dance music (EDM) festivals are very popular in Belgium. You can find them in all shades and formats. From small and cosy to mega and pompous. From revolutionary and well-considered to big hit venues and theatrical spectacles. Every moderately large town in Belgium has one, but until recently Brussels still lacked a major player.

José González brak door met fluisterversies van liedjes van The Knife (‘Heartbeats’) en Massive Attack (‘Teardrop’). Zijn nog immer innemende, zachte stem en akoestische gitaar krijgen versterking in Junip, de groep waar hij ook voor zijn solodoorbraak al deel van uitmaakte.

Seasick Steve, with his trademark long beard and casual baseball cap, is still wandering around. With his raw, ramshackle blues sound he launched one of the most extraordinary careers of the last decade. He’s seventy plus, but because he only tasted success when he was already pensionable, he feels there’s no time left to lose.
